A note from Kevin:
"The packing list for the Apogee survival course is very minimal other than what you would normally take for car camping. In other words, in addition to a 20 degree sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and tent/hammock/tarp, all you really need to train are the following.
Minimum requirements:
*Sturdy Knife (Mora Companion HD or equivalent)
*Fire Steel (Exotac FireROD or equivalent)
*Canteen/bottle with nesting cup
*100' 550 Paracord
*Small tarp or poncho (to create shelters)
*Headlamp (for moving around at night)
*Suitable clothing for any weather encountered
*Snacks for the day
Nice to have:
*Folding Saw
*Stadium seat pad
*Work gloves
*Note pad and pen
*Cast iron pan (for making camp bread called Bannock)
Students are responsible for meals but are also welcome to try what the instructors prepare. I will bring additional gear students will utilize not listed here. The course is designed to teach students to do more with less and become resourceful with limited resources. We'd rather students determine what they need at the course to purchase afterwards than have them spend more on gear that won't be used. I am excited to train with you!"
