The Learning Process

Socratic Conversations
In many of our lessons, we incorporate Socratic dialogue. Through open-ended questions, students are guided to think critically, deepen their understanding, and uncover knowledge for themselves. These discussions build inquiry, analysis, and communication skills while fostering civil discourse. Students learn to listen thoughtfully, engage differing views with respect, and pursue truth through reasoned dialogue rather than contention.

Project-based Learning
Apogee Triangle places a strong emphasis on project-based learning. Students are encouraged to engage in hands-on, real-world projects that allow them to apply what they've learned in a practical context. This approach nurtures problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration. Each session students will explore different themes in hands-on and engaging ways.

Mixed-Age Campus
The campus organizes students into mixed-age groups, creating a dynamic learning environment. This approach encourages peer mentoring, collaboration, and a sense of community among students of different ages. It also allows for more individualized experiences.

Physical Fitness
Our campus places a strong emphasis on health, wellness, and physical fitness as a daily non-negotiable. Good physical health supports strong mental health. Learning to move well, eat well, and live well builds resilience, discipline, and personal growth.

Life Skills
Apogee Triangle focuses on essential life skills, to include but not limited to conflict resolution, goal setting, time management, leadership, entrepreneurship, character development, and communication. The aim is to prepare students for success beyond the campus.

Self-paced Learning
Students access a wide range of resources, including online platforms, workbooks, manipulatives, and dedicated reading and writing programs. Apogee Triangle is a self-paced environment where each student progresses at their own rate, which may differ from traditional grade levels. Students and parents set weekly goals, and we communicate regularly about progress and challenges.

Meet The Founders
Mike is a dedicated husband to his wife, Allison, and a proud "girl dad" to their two daughters. His life is guided by his faith in Jesus Christ. Mike's career in law enforcement focused on specialized areas like gang and drug investigations. His enthusiasm for inspiring the next generation of officers led him to become a certified law enforcement instructor. Driven by a commitment to training, he served on the department's Reality Based Training Team and delivered instruction at the police academy. Mike later transitioned his expertise from law enforcement into a Corporate Security position with a global company. Mike is known for his contagious optimism and ability to find humor in most situations, Mike enjoys spending his free time outdoors, hunting or fishing. He is also a lifelong fan of good music and hockey.
Allison's faith in Jesus Christ serves as the foundation for her daily commitment to serving others. She is a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Prior to co-founding Apogee Triangle, Allison made a significant impact as the VP of Finance & Special Projects at the Cary Chamber of Commerce. She is widely recognized as a community leader who excels at optimizing partnerships and resources to benefit the wider community and its members. She deeply values the professional and personal relationships cultivated during her tenure.
Driven by a passion for health and wellness, Allison is committed to educating and empowering future generations to be curious, ask questions, and seek the root cause of issues. She is thrilled to be on this life-changing journey with Mike and their two daughters. In her personal time, Allison enjoys gardening, exercising, hiking in the mountains, or relaxing at the beach.

Matt Beaudreau
Matt Beaudreau is a keynote speaker, educator, and entrepreneur specializing in alternative education, personal development, and family systems. He is the co-founder of the Apogee Strong mentorship program, and founder of the Human & Family Systems Institute (HFSI). A two-time TEDx speaker and former Stanford Corporate Trainer of the Year, he has addressed over 250,000 people worldwide He is also a husband and father.

Apogee has partnered with Middle States Association (MSA) and we are an accredited network!

Yes, we currently participate in the NC Opportunity Scholarship program.
What does student-led mean?
Student-led learning is an education style that emphasizes self-directed exploration, curiosity, creativity, and discovery, rather than rote memorization or traditional lecture-style teaching. Students work at their own pace and focus on mastery of concepts.
How much does it cost?
Tuition: $9500 (2026-27 school year) *subject to change
Enrollment Fee: $500 per student (one-time fee for new students)
Supply Fee: $350 *subject to change

Are you a faith based school?
Yes. Apogee Triangle is faith-integrated and grounded in Christian values. We seek truth, rooted in God’s Word (Scripture). We do not teach theology as a subject. We reference Scripture and facilitate conversation around it.
Where are you located?
Apex, NC
Are you a year-round school?
No, we operate September through May.
How many days per week do you operate?
Four days per week, Monday - Thursday from 9am to 3:15pm
Does my child have to exercise everday?
Yes! An age appropriate workout is part of each day on campus.
Do you have a part-time program?
No, not at this time.
What ages are you enrolling?
We currently have students ages 5-13 on campus, as we grow we will serve ages 5-18 years old.
